What is this?

New Model Cinema (NMC) is a voluntary grassroots organisation. Its credo is that films can be made cheaply, quickly and innovatively, with content that is not jeopardised by aesthetics. It aspires to create a new model for cinema – a network of freethinking, articulate story telling on screen, a refuge for the marginalised in modern cinema.

New Model Cinema is not:
- a ‘film society’ that plays ‘specialist cinema’, but a cinema system that shows ‘not-for-profit’ features, stories that just need to be told.
- an art-house/ short film-cum-music-later networking night, but a cinema system that provides a platform for the lo-def, video-makers with an interesting vision.
